Local line noise was worse than usual, afraid to call CQ and be an alligator!
It seemed like the deep fades typical of this band were more pronounced this
year. Stations with huge signals would quickly become puny, and then regain
their strength again. It also appeared that the band openings were more
regional than usual....when I was hearing stations in New England, it might not
be possible to copy guys further down the east coast. Later, the situation
